Austin R. Lifferth, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Austin R. Lifferth graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2003 and completed a post-graduate residency in ocular disease at the Huntington, West Virginia Veterans Affairs Medical Center 2003-2004. Since that time, he has practiced in an ophthalmology co-management center for several years at Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers, a hospital-based setting at The Villages, Florida Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic, and is now back home again in Indiana as a consultative optometrist with an emphasis in glaucoma management at Grossnickle Eye Centers in Northern Indiana. Dr. Lifferth is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society.
Ian W. McWherter, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Ian McWherter is a consultative optometrist at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, Ky. He is a 2012 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pa and completed his residency in ocular disease at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers. Dr. McWherter is the Head of Optometric Telemedicine and Emerging Technology at the Kentucky College of Optometry, Pikeville, Ky and serves as Vice President of the Louisville Glaucoma Society. Additionally, Dr. McWherter is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry and holds Adjunct Faculty positions with the Indiana University and University of Alabama Schools of Optometry. Dr. McWherter practices optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease, lasers, and minor surgical procedures and was named Kentucky’s Young Optometrist of the year in 2018.
